Iron block and cylinder head maker Tupy, Joinville, Brazil, received the Volkswagen Group Award this year. The trophy was presented at the Porsche plant, in Leipzig, Germany, and recognized the best global suppliers of all the companies of the Volkswagen Group. It honored global suppliers that fulfilled the expectations of product development, innovation capacity, quality and effectiveness serving the group’s different plants. The executives of the German group emphasized the synergy with their supply chain as a basic factor in the search for new technologies and innovations.
“This recognition strengthens our partnership and shows our commitment to product excellence, delivery and service towards one of our main customers,” said Fernando Cestari de Rizzo, vice president, Automotive Business Unit, Tupy.
Engine blocks and cylinder heads, in addition to other Tupy engineering parts supplied by the Brazil and Mexico plants, are present in Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen cars, as well as in VW, MAN and Scania trucks and buses around the world.
Brühl är också tillverkare av det aktuella blocket men de lär inte få motsvarande pris eftersom deras produktion med hemmakok håller inte så god kvalitet. Kassation förekommer för ofta hos Brühl
