Nu börjas det. Jag har inte själv trott en enda sekund att den nya fina motorn skulle stanna i F-150. Den kommer att få en vid spridning inom Ford.

Ford har varit mycket tystlåtna sedan den nya motorn visades i Detroit på NAIAS men nu skriver de att den har en effekt ” på mer än 300 hästkrafter”.

A Sport version of the vehicle will be exclusively available with a 2.7-liter EcoBoost twin-turbocharged V6 expected to deliver more than 300 horsepower.

The automaker has yet to release horsepower and torque ratings for the 2.7L EcoBoost V-6, but says the engine will produce power comparable to a mid-range V-8. It uses the same compacted graphite iron in its cylinder block as the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel, which Ford says allows for a remarkably stiff and compact design.

The Edge gets two new engines for 2015 but loses the 3.7-liter V6. The basic SE, SEL and Titanium trims will have the option of a 245-hp, 270-lb-ft EcoBoost 2.0-liter I4 or a 265-hp 3.5-liter V6. The Edge Sport gets a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 making “more than 300 hp” according to Ford. The new 2.7-liter mill uses compacted graphite iron in its cylinder block like the Power Stroke diesel.
